Your job is one of the most important aspects of your life why would you not want to know you have support, advice and know somebody has your back?

If we did not keep getting members to join the branch. Eventually the branch would cease to exist and you would move under a branch that know very little about policing and probation or the policy and procedures that relate to you and there would be nobody to negotiate on your behalf that understands police and probation and employment law to ensure you have a fair representation within the force. 

Unions and Unison exist to support the worker ensure fair standards, practice, policy and procedure, working hours, annual leave, paternity pay and time, maternity pay and time, sickness pay, flexible working, flexitime and the most important one of all a yearly pay rise.

Unison has fought hard over the years to ensure you as staff have rights and we continue to do so this is why it is important we get new members and keep both the branch alive and Unison as a whole able to continue to fight for your rights and protection.
